Hands To Hair Salon in Greece Holds Open House, Raises Awareness About Organ Donation

Hands To Hair owner Sandra Kyte holds an open house reception each year to invite the community into her salon at 2496 W. Ridge Road, and at the same time allow guests to learn about a worthy cause.

This year Kyte has invited Finger Lakes Donor Recovery Network, the region’s organ procurement organization that coordinates organ donations across much of upstate New York.

Community members are welcome to stop by and meet Kyte and her staff, and ask Finger Lakes Donor Recovery Network staff questions about organ donation and transplantation. There will be door prizes, and refreshments will be served. Donations will be collected for the University of Rochester Medical Center Patient Care Fund, which provides emergency funding for necessities some transplant patients have difficulty affording.

FLDRN is affiliated with the University of Rochester Medical Center. It coordinates organ donation in 20 counties with a population of 2.4 million, and serves 38 hospitals in the Finger Lakes region, central and northern New York.
