Integrative Oncology Discussion Jan. 20 at Wilmot Cancer Center

Jan. 12, 2009

People with cancer can learn about the emerging field of integrative medicine during a talk from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center.

The free session will be led by radiation oncologist Marilyn Ling, M.D., a breast cancer specialist. She will help participants understand what integrative oncology is, whether they can benefit from it and what the evidence-based research says.

The event is part of a monthly integrative oncology lecture series for patients who want to learn more about improving their quality of life during cancer care and survival. To register for the event, call (585) 275-6426.

The lecture series is held on the third Tuesday of each month, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., and open to the public. Future discussions will focus on meditation, palliative care, massage therapy and yoga.
