June 13 Event Benefits Harbor House of Rochester

May. 6, 2009
Facility serves URMC heart failure, transplant patients who travel to Rochester for care

The community will come together with patients and staff members from the University of Rochester Medical Center's Program in Heart Failure and Transplantation for the fourth annual “And the Beat Goes On” fundraiser at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at the Doubletree Hotel, 1111 Jefferson Road, Rochester.

All proceeds will be used to support Harbor House of Rochester, which officially opens this spring at 89 Rossiter Road, just two short blocks from the University of Rochester Medical Center. Its mission is to serve as an invaluable support for families by providing temporary lodging needs during health emergencies and for periods of long-term care for patients receiving care through the URMC Program in Heart Failure and Transplantation and its Artificial Heart Program.

“And the Beat Goes On” includes dinner; a silent auction, raffles and door prizes; dancing; and a live band, Second Chance. Second Chance drummer Tom Arcara of Spencerport is a transplant patient who received a new heart at URMC in 2005.

Tickets are $40 per person. Call (585) 473-1779 or use the easy registration template online at www.harborhouseofrochester.org.
