June 21 Motorcycle Drawing, Poker Run Benefits Wilmot Cancer Center
Motorcycle and hot-rod enthusiasts can enjoy a 70-mile ride through western New York and support local people with cancer during the “Ride to the Dakota” in Hilton on Sunday, June 21. A highlight will be the drawing to win a custom motorcycle. The event, which includes a car show, food and music, is sponsored Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 20, Cenzi Motorcycle Company and Street Machines of Rochester to benefit the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. at the Dakota Grill, 913 Roosevelt Highway, Hilton. To join the ride, it’s $15 per vehicle, or $20 for the ride and car show. You can enter a car in the show for $10. For more details at www.ridetothedakota.com.
The drawing for a custom motorcycle, valued at $30,000 and created by Cenzi Motorcycle Company, will be at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 or three for $20.
The motorcycle will be on display at Nola’s BBQ in Charlotte from 7 to 11 p.m., Friday, June 5, and at Taste of Texas BBQ in Spencerport from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 7. “This is a great way to help raise money for a valuable resource in our community – the Wilmot Cancer Center,” said Cenzi, president of Cenzi Motorcycle Company. He is supporting his mother as she undergoes treatment for lung cancer diagnosed in January. He hopes to raise $50,000 to support local cancer care and research.
