Men’s Health Day Explores Healthy Aging

UR Medicine’s 11th Annual Men’s Health Day will be held on June 19, 2015. Caregivers from UR Medicine will address a wide range of topics, focusing on how older men can prolong a healthy and active lifestyle.
Men’s Health Day will be held at Mario’s Italian Steakhouse at 2740 Monroe Avenue in Rochester. The event runs from 11:00am to 3:00pm, includes lunch, and is free and open to men 45 and older.
“While some factors that place older men at risk for health problems are unavoidable, many conditions – including heart disease, stroke, certain cancers, and bone, joint, and muscle conditions – can be mitigated by making good decisions and taking control of one’s own health,” said Jean Joseph, M.D., M.B.A., a urologist with UR Medicine and organizer of the event. “Adapting healthy lifestyle choices like eating right and getting exercise, regular visits to the doctor’s office, and staying on top of screenings are all steps that can keep us on the path to healthy aging.”
Speakers at the event include:
- "Diet, nutrition, exercise, primary care, and heart health” – Michael Rotondo, M.D., F.A.C.S., CEO UR Medicine Medical Faculty Group, Marc Berliant, M.D., UR Medicine Department of Medicine, John Bisognano, M.D., Ph.D., UR Medicine Department of Medicine, Cardiology Division, and Kacie Cook, R.D., C.D.N..
