Plant Sale to Benefit Wilmot Cancer Center’s Integrative Oncology Program

The James P. Wilmot Cancer Center Integrative Oncology Program is hosting its first “Plant Life – Weed Out Cancer” plant swap and sale Saturday, September 10, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The plant swap and sale will be held at the University of Rochester Medical Center Parking Lot 11, located on Kendrick Road., between East River Road and Crittenden Blvd.  

Funds raised through this event will be used to support the Wilmot Cancer Center’s Integrative Oncology program, which provides wellness education and services to complement the medical care patients receive at the area’s leading cancer center.

Garden enthusiasts are invited to participate in this inaugural event, as both buyers and sellers. Those wishing to swap or sell their garden plants can reserve a 9’ X 12’ space for just $25, which goes directly to the Wilmot Cancer Center. The only additional request is that participating vendors donate at least one plant that can be sold by volunteers to generate funds for the Integrative Oncology program. Everyone from the casual gardener who just needs to thin out perennials to retail garden centers are welcome to participate. 

Those who are looking for new additions to their gardens during the Fall planting season will be able to shop from dozens of vendors at bargain prices.
