Octuplet Birth Prompts Discussion Led by URMC Fertility Expert

In vitro fertilization, pregnancy and multiple births will be the focus of discussion at a free seminar sponsored by the support group Infertility Focus and the Strong Fertility Center at 7 p.m. Monday, March 9 at The Women’s Health Pavilion, 500 Red Creek Drive in Henrietta.

Octuplets: How Did This Happen? A Discussion of Technology and Ethics will be presented by John T. Queenan Jr., M.D., reproductive endocrinologist at the Strong Fertility Center and associate professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Queenan will discuss the incidence of multiples in pregnancies resulting from in vitro fertilization, guidelines related to fertility treatments, and efforts recommended for safe and successful fertility care.
