Take a Spin over to the Rides for Life Car Show

Show off your favorite set of wheels at the sixth annual Rides for Life Car Show, which will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12. This year’s event will be held at the spacious lot of Rick’s Prime Rib, located at 898 Buffalo Road in Rochester. With great food and beverages on top of music and a host of excellent cars to check out, Rides for Life is an event that families and car enthusiasts won’t want to miss.
Enjoy the car show, presented by Strong Regional Trauma Program, and know that while you’re celebrating great cars and motorcycles, you’re also helping keep kids safe and prevent future crashes by supporting Injury Free Coalition for Kids of Rochester. In addition to showing off hot rides, there will also be a car crash simulation with participation from a host of local organizations focused on safety, including the Monroe County Office of Traffic Safety, Gates Fire Department, Gates Police Department, Gates Ambulance and Mercy Flight. Members of the Rochester Police Department Motorcycle Unit, New York State Troopers and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office with their K-9 unit will also be in attendance.
Awards will be given to participants in various categories, including imports, domestics, classics, new and late model cars, cruiser motorcycles, sport bikes, trucks, SUVs and “beaters.” Participants are encouraged to make a donation of $10 and spectators can make a suggested donation of one dollar to the Injury Free Coalition for Kids of Rochester.
The Injury Free Coalition for Kids of Rochester is a local organization that is made up of individuals, community groups and local government organizations dedicated to raise awareness about injury prevention among children and teens in the Rochester-area community. It is based out of the Golisano Children’s Hospital at the University of Rochester Medical Center. The coalition’s safe teen driving program is also funded in part by a generous grant from the Allstate Foundation.
