Two Eastman Institute Faculty Chosen for Global Expert Meeting

Group photo of 70 expertsTwo Eastman Institute for Oral Health faculty were among 70 experts from 18 countries who were selected to participate in the recent Oral Reconstruction Foundation’s International Expert Meeting (IEM) in Prague.

“There were a lot of fruitful discussions and interactions at this very well organized consensus meeting,” said Alexandra Tsigarida, D.D.S, M.S., assistant professor and program director for Eastman Institute’s Periodontics Residency Program. “I am so glad I was part of this.”

Konstantinos Chochlidakis, D.D.S., M.S. (Prostho ’13), assistant professor and program director of Eastman Institute’s Prosthodontic Residency Program was also in attendance, where participants divided into various work group with the collective goal of establishing expert treatment recommendations and a decision tree for treating edentulous patients with implant restorations.

The purpose of the Oral Reconstruction Foundation is to secure progress in implant dentistry and related fields by creating and imparting new scientific knowledge for the patients’ benefit. Through a close international collaboration between universities, practitioners, technicians, and industry, the Foundation aims to further develop the scientific and educational bases of implant dentistry to better serve the patient.
