Learners participate as interprofessional teams in simulated NICU patient emergencies to develop their knowledge, patient care skills, teamwork and communication skills.

University of Rochester nurses, respiratory therapists, advanced practice providers, residents, fellows, and attending physicians who provide patient care in the NICU

Learning Objectives

  • Identify systems-based latent safety threats that affect team function, patient care and patient safety.
  • Stabilize the infant per AHA and NRP guidelines.
  • Demonstrate effective teamwork and communication skills during neonatal codes.
