A LARC Talk is a one-hour long presentation delivered by an expert physician and a health educator with expertise in reproductive health. Our speakers use a social and reproductive justice framework to lead a discussion about unintended teen pregnancy and evidence-based information about the safety and effectiveness of LARC. We also provide resources for referring teens who are interested in obtaining LARC to a family planning clinic that offers free and confidential services. These talks always include a free catered meal, and can be held at a time and place that is convenient for your group.
We recognize the important role that trusted adults play in the lives of young people. For that reason, we present to those adults who interact with youth in a variety of ways. We talk to healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and other types of medical providers, as well as to staff at community-based organizations and positive youth development programs. In 2018, the LARC Initiative expanded to reach parents, teachers, counselors, coaches, and other types of adults who talk to youth.
