Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

The URMC Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation provides non-surgical treatment to pateints of all ages with a wide spectrum of neurologic, orthopaedic, and painful conditions, as well as other rehabilitation needs.

The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Difference:

• URMC's Phyisical Medicine and Rehabilitation physical and occupational therapy services are the Rochester, NY nine-county region's most comprehensive.
• Our pysical medicine specialists (physiatrists) are board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, spinal cord injury, medicine, and pain management.
• Our providers include certified hand therapists and physical therapists specializing in brachial plexus, back, and shoulder therapy as well.
• We believe rehabilitation is more than restoring lost function; it's about restoring hope.

• Our Comprehensive Integrated Inpatient Rehabilitation Program, Spinal Cord, and Stroke Systems of Care are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), the agency responsible for setting the standards for the delivery of superior rehabilitative care. We are the only CARF-accredited Spinal Cord System of Care in the region.
