Pediatric Critical Care
Pediatric Critical Care at Golisano Children's Hospital is dedicated exclusively to the specialized needs of the most seriously ill or injured children who range in age from 1 day to 18 years.
Our nationally recognized pediatric intensivists (physicians who specializes in the care and treatment of children in intensive care) as well as pediatric critical care nurses provide the constant attention these children need in our new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and new Pediatric Cardiac Care Center (PCCC). Their services are complemented by the multidisciplinary care provided by other pediatric sub specialists.
Children from other hospitals and emergency care facilities in Rochester and 17 surrounding counties are transferred to our PICU/PCCC where they receive the care only a dedicated pediatric critical care unit can provide. Our Pediatric Critical Care Transport team is available to help make sure each child receives optimal care, even in transit.
Critically ill newborns are cared for in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
