An unusually broad collaboration of health professionals from the greater Rochester area has been selected by the National Institutes of Health to help lead the nation’s assault on pain. The effort is led by physicians and scientists at the University of Rochester Medical Center and includes nurses, pharmacists, chiropractors, acupuncturists and others from St. John Fisher College and the New York Chiropractic College.
Grace Esposito was given a one in five chance of surviving but this "amazing" child has beaten all the odds, with help from expert care at Golisano Children's Hospital. She is one of five children chosen as the hospital's 2012 Miracle Kids who represent 74,000 children treated here every year.
Sweet little Gavin wasn't born with just one challenge -- he has cystic fibrosis, a hole in his heart and DiGeorge syndrome. But with a strong family and specialized care at Golisano Children's Hospital, Gavin is doing well. He is one of five children chosen as the hospital's 2012 Miracle Kids who represent 74,000 children treated here every year.
P. Christopher Cook, M.D., F.R.C.S., a new pediatric orthopaedic surgeon at Golisano Children’s Hospital at the University of Rochester Medical Center, brings with him to Rochester highly specialized techniques for treating children and adolescents with complicated hip issues, such as dysplasia.
