The Office for Faculty Development strives to provide an institutional framework that includes a broad range of activities to help renew and assist faculty in their multiple academic roles. These activities are designed to improve the knowledge and skills essential to their performance as educators, and to assist faculty members in gaining a better understanding of academic career development, mentoring, and leadership.

Registration is now open for the 2013 Annual Health Professions' Faculty Development Colloquium which will be held at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry on June 5, 2013. Plenary speakers are: Pat Croskerry, MD, PhD, Professor of Emergency Medicine, Director, Critical Thinking Program, Division of Medical Education, Dalhousie University Faculty of Medicine, Halifax, Nova Scotia; and JackCoulehan, MD, MPH, Professor Emeritus of Preventive Medicine, Fellow, Center for Medical Humanities and Bioethics, Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, New York.
The goal of the colloquium is to bring together faculty, educators, and healthcare professionals to share best practices. Thought-provoking plenary sessions, short communications, and workshops covering a variety of topics will help renew and support colloquium participants in their professional roles. Interactive sessions and poster presentations will foster networking and the interchange of ideas.
