The Office for Faculty Development strives to provide an institutional framework that includes a broad range of activities to help renew and assist faculty in their multiple academic roles. These activities are designed to improve the knowledge and skills essential to their performance as educators, and to assist faculty members in gaining a better understanding of academic career development, mentoring, and leadership.

Congratulations and best wishes to Denham Ward, MD, PhD on his retirement as Associate Dean for Faculty Development - Medical Education and chair of the Department of Anesthesiology. Dr. Ward has been appointed as the next president of the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER), an organization founded by the American Society of Anesthesiologists that supports individuals entering the field through research grants, mentoring and career development programs. We wish him well in his new role and thank him for his many years of service in promoting faculty development and medical education at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry.
