Benefits at Highland Hospital
Employees at Highland Hospital enjoy benefits that add valuable security and peace of mind to their lives.
Flexible Health & Dental Insurance Plans
Group health insurance plans are available for eligible employees, their spouses, and dependent children. Employees can chose among varying levels of medical and dental coverage to find the plan that fits their individual and family needs best. All medical options are available on a pre-tax basis.
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
Full- and part-time employees may enroll in FSAs to have money deducted pre-tax to help pay for certain non-reimbursed health care, dental or dependent care expenses.
Short- & Long-Term Disability Insurance
To those employees who qualify, short- and long-term disability insurance is available to help protect against the loss of salary if they should become disabled.
Eligible employees are covered by a group term life insurance policy. They can also purchase supplemental life insurance in varying amounts.
Vacation, Sick, & Holidays
Highland offers a competitive paid time-off allotment for all eligible employees for vacation, holidays, and sick time.
Highland encourages you to continue your professional development through the Tuition Assistance program.
Highland Hospital employees continually engage in lifelong learning. To help our employees improve their skills and achieve our nursing vision, we award generous scholarships through our Professional Development Council each spring. To be eligible for the following nursing scholarships, applicants must meet strict criteria.
The Medical Executive Committee maintains a scholarship fund for Highland RNs who are currently pursuing their Bachelor of Nursing degree. Each year, three $1,000 scholarships are awarded.
The Marion C. Thompson Memorial Scholarship Fund is an established fund within the Highland Foundation that provides scholarships to Highland employees pursuing their RN degree. Scholarships are available to full- or part- time students who are matriculated into a nursing program. Each winner receives $1,000 toward tuition, fees, and/or books.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
This free and confidential service provides information, education, counseling and support to all employees and their family members.
