The Bariatric Endoscopy Program at UR Medicine now offers the Weight loss balloon (also known as intragastric balloon) procedure.

We are partnered with the Bariatric Surgery Center at Highland Hospital.

Meet Our Providers

Dr. Truptesh KothariTruptesh H. Kothari, MD, MS is a Board Certified Gastroenterologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Strong Memorial and Highland Hospitals.  Dr. Kothari is a fellowship trained advanced endoscopist and has received special training in placement of the intragastric balloon.

Dr. Kothari leads the Bariatric Endoscopy Program.

Dr. Truptesh KothariVictoria Howard, PA is an experienced provider who works closely with Dr. Kothari in the realm of patient care.  She enjoys working with all facets of GI and Hepatology but has developed a special interest in the areas of GI Motility and endoscopic therapies for obesity.

Highland Bariatric Center team, led by Dr. Willam O'Malley, will help provide pre- and post-procedure support for patients undergoing the intragastric balloon procedure.  All providers and ancillary staff will work collaboratively to facilitate the best patient experience and outcomes.
