Research Interests:
- Cells of the immune system respond to unmethylated CpG oligodeoxynucleotides (ODN), typical of bacterial DNA, through Toll-like receptor (TLR) 9. My research tests the hypothesis that CpG ODN also enhance synthesis of cytokines, such as IL-8, in pulmonary epithelial cells.
