Cardiology fellows are encouraged to pursue their research education with an experience in clinical or laboratory-based research. Their individual focus will depend on their research interests and career goals. Fellows can join projects currently underway in the division, initiate new projects in the division or find projects with mentors throughout the University.
Departmental and institutional support for fellowship research is available through a wealth of resources and tools, including educational support through the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI). In addition, other training opportunities are available such as a pediatric T32 NIH training grant.
It is anticipated that these scholarly activities will result in presentations by the fellows at national meetings and in published manuscripts, as these are required for board eligibility.
