The Division of Pediatric Rheumatology of the Department of Pediatrics, Golisano Children's Hospital, provides diagnosis and treatment for children and adolescents with rheumatologic conditions, such as Juvenile Arthritis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Juvenile Dermatomyositis, Juvenile Scleroderma and Systemic Sclerosis, and other rheumatologic and autoinflammatory conditions. We evaluate patients with concern for inflammatory arthritis, undiagnosed musculoskeletal pain, periodic fevers, vasculitis, and Raynaud’s phenomenon. We are the largest Pediatric Rheumatology center in Central and Western New York.

We provide:

  • State-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment
  • Education and support for patients and families
  • Access to a broad range of collaborating medical and surgical subspecialists, mental health experts, and other allied health professionals
  • Point-of-care ultrasound for diagnosis and management of inflammatory musculoskeletal conditions

In addition, we are actively committed to training current and future physicians and researchers in the science and practice of pediatric rheumatology.

We participate in collaborative research including both local collaboratives and nationally through the CARRA (Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance) network, USSONAR (Ultrasound School of North American Rheumatologists) the ACR (American College of Rheumatology), and the NIH (National Institutes of Health).
