Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND)

Photo with inspirational messageThe University of Rochester’s LEND program has been in place since 1988 and during those 31 years has trained more than 300 professionals from numerous fields of study. Over half of those LEND graduates have gone on to work in a field related to people with IDD. The scope of trainees includes MDs, RNs and NPs, Dentists, as well as numerous training programs delivered to a wide variety of University of Rochester staff.
Additionally, each Pediatric and Internal Medicine-Pediatric Resident has a one month required rotation in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, and Med Peds Residents learn about transition and adult health care for people with IDD in the Medical Center’s Complex Care Center.
