Genesee Vascular Lab Joins UR Medicine Heart & Vascular

UR Medicine has acquired Genesee Vascular Lab expanding its Heart and Vascular expertise, care and locations.
Vascular surgeon Thomas E. Penn, M.D., who formed the practice in 1977, will continue to provide non-invasive vascular diagnostic testing at its Brighton and Penfield locations.

Genesee Vascular was the first practice in the Finger Lakes region to hold the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories. Its offices are located at Clinton Crossings, 919 Westfall Road, Building B in Brighton, and at 2060 Fairport Nine Mile Point Road, near the intersection of Routes 250 and 441 in Penfield.
“This is a win-win for all of us – Genesee Vascular, UR Medicine and our combined patients,” Penn said. He has served as clinical professor emeritus of Surgery, mentoring students with the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry as well as Rochester Institute of Technology.
UR Medicine Vascular Surgery team offers the full range of arterial and venous disorders and a dedicated Vein Center. Surgeons work in partnership with cardiologists, serving as the region’s largest comprehensive heart and vascular team. In addition to the new locations, vascular care is provided at 140 Canal View Blvd., off Brighton-Henrietta Townline Road, Strong Memorial and F.F. Thompson hospitals and 293 W. North St. in Geneva.
