Eye-Opening Offer Benefits Wilmot Cancer Center Research

Camille’s Sidewalk Café has launched a delicious and eye-opening way to support cancer research at the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center by selling coffee mugs that can be refilled for free for a year.

The Coffee for the Cure program is simple: purchase a custom travel mug for $100, get coffee for a year, and every penny supports local scientists seeking cures for cancer.

Owner Michael Linehan hopes to sell 300 mugs and raise $30,000 this year.  Camille’s Cafes are located on Park Avenue in Rochester, Pittsford Plaza and EastView Mall.

Linehan, a grandson of James P. Wilmot, created the program because “grants of $20,000 or $30,000 are valuable in supporting research projects and attracting talented scientists to the Wilmot Cancer Center. It’s important to support the efforts to build the best team of experts in cancer care and research here in Rochester.”

He hopes to continue the fund-raiser annually and provide a continuing source of research dollars to the Wilmot Cancer Center.
