Free Mammography Screenings Oct. 11

UR Medicine Breast Imaging is offering free mammograms to uninsured and underinsured women from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 11 at two locations: at Highland Breast Imaging in Henrietta and at Strong West in Brockport. The screenings are offered in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The event runs from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 11 at Highland Breast Imaging, 500 Red Creek Drive, Suite 130, and at Strong West, 156 West Ave., Brockport.   Appointments are required. Routine mammography is the best way to screen for breast cancer.  The imaging technology can detect tiny cancers that are too small for women to detect during self-exam.

Parking is free; refreshments and music will be provided to treat attendees to a relaxing experience. Women who cannot make the screening are encouraged to schedule an appointment for a different day by calling (585) 585-487-3300.
