Psychiatry Faculty Member Honored for Leadership
Catherine Cerulli, J.D., assistant professor of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester Medical Center, was honored at Albany Law School with a Kate Stoneman award, which is given annually to individuals who are committed to actively seeking change and expanding opportunities for women in the legal profession.
Cerulli is the director of the department’s Laboratory of Interpersonal Violence and Victimization at the Medical Center. She was selected for her leadership and work in domestic violence and mental health, as well as her commitment to be a role model for young lawyers, showing them how to use their expertise to help confront serious issues.
Cerulli was one of three honored at the 15th Annual Kate Stoneman Day March 3 at Albany Law School. The awards are presented in honor of Stoneman, the first woman admitted to practice law in New York and the first female graduate of Albany Law School in 1898.
The other award recipients this year were Nell Minow, co-founder of the Corporate Library, an independent research firm focusing on corporate governance, and Anne Reynolds Copps, an attorney in private practice in Albany.
Previous winners span a variety of public and private practitioners, judges, and law professors, including Hon. Judith S. Kaye, recently retired Chief Judge of the State of New York.
