Third Year Fellow
Marylou Dryer, M.D.
Marylou is a native of Midland, MI. She attended Grand Valley State University in western Michigan to major in Biomedical Science before commissioning as an officer in the US Navy and leaving the state to pursue medical training at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA, and then internship in Internal Medicine at the Naval Medical Center San Diego in California. She served as a General Medical Officer in Family Medicine at the Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, in Oak Harbor, WA, then was stationed with the Seabees of NMCB THREE homeported in Port Hueneme, CA, including deployments to Afghanistan, Europe and Africa. Upon separation from active duty, she completed an administrative fellowship in Quality and Patient Safety and was certified by the American Board of Medical Quality before residency training in combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Christiana Care Health System in Newark, DE. She was attracted to pediatric cardiology for the chance to blend various aspects of medicine such as patient continuity in clinic, inpatient acute care, definitive procedural treatments, academic medicine, and standard-of-care defining research all into a single career that is brightened by the joy of practicing in a children's hospital.
She has moved to Rochester with her husband, Jacob, along with their twins, a son, Jordan, and daughter, Maya, as well as their energetic boxer and two cats. She and her family have been spending time at local farmer's markets, festivals and parks getting to know their new home. When not in the hospital, she enjoys spending time outdoors including gardening, camping, and hiking and likes cooking, baking, and winemaking.
Second Year Fellow
Laura Boulos, D.O.
Laura is originally from the town of Holmdel, NJ. She graduated from Baruch College in New York City as Salutatorian of her class with a major in Finance, prior to then receiving her medical degree from Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, NJ. She completed her pediatric residency training at Jersey Shore University Medical Center and in her third year became Chief Resident. During residency she worked closely with her mentors in pediatric cardiology, and her research project focused on Kawasaki Disease. Laura has always loved working with children, but during her time as both a student and resident her specific interest in cardiology grew. Laura's interest in pediatric cardiology continues to thrive during her fellowship training, as she has the privilege of working with children with complex congenital heart disease. She is enthusiastic about all of the educational training she will be receiving in Rochester.
Laura came to Rochester with her husband and daughter, whom she enjoys spending all of her time outside of the hospital with. She looks forward to exploring all that Rochester has to offer with her family. Her personal interests include traveling, trying new restaurants/cuisines, creative crafts, and spending time with family.
