Treatment

Pain Medications

• Opioids
• Acetaminophen, (TYLENOL^® )
• Lidocaine viscous solution
• Normal saline/sodium bicarbonate mouth rinse
• Chlorhexidine mouth wash
• BMX/Magic Mouth Wash

L-glutamine

• 400mg/kg/day - max dose is 45 grams daily
• Continue for 5 days with HD MTX
• Continue until count recovery in BMT patients

TPN (Total Parenteral Nutrition)

• TPN may be required if there is insufficient caloric intake
