How to Apply
We participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) and utilize the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) to manage applications. ERAS opens in July for fellowship starting in July of the following year.
Prerequisite
The postdoctoral education prerequisite is completing an ACGME-accredited general pediatric residency training program.

Application Submission
Please submit the following documents to ERAS:
- ERAS application
- Personal statement telling us about yourself, your interest in Neonatology, long-term plans, and specific fellowship training goals
- 3 - 4 letters of recommendation from the residency program director, at least 1 neonatologist, and the remaining from faculty members who are familiar with your work
We accept applications from U.S. citizens, permanent residents of the U.S., and individuals with J-1 visas to work in the U.S. The University of Rochester does not sponsor individuals with H1B visas for Neonatology fellowship training.
Selection criteria will include an excellent residency performance record from an ACGME-accredited U.S. residency program, the personal interview and goals consistent with those of the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program at the University of Rochester.

Interview
Based on your ERAS application, virtual interview invitations will be sent out. Before your interview, we will send you our informational Rochester welcome package.
On your interview day, we will schedule you to meet with our program directors, 4-5 faculty members, nurse leaders, and our current fellows. We will reach out to you beforehand to schedule you with faculty that match your interests.
