Dr. Shand has a background in translational hematology research, including pediatric leukemias with high-risk features. Her current research focuses on ethics and health equity issues in hematology, including ethical issues in blood management and therapeutic drug development, as well as bias/stigma...
Dr. Shand has a background in translational hematology research, including pediatric leukemias with high-risk features. Her current research focuses on ethics and health equity issues in hematology, including ethical issues in blood management and therapeutic drug development, as well as bias/stigma in the care of adolescents and young adults with sickle cell disease. Dr. Shand also has a scholarly interest on the impact of spiritual care and healthcare chaplaincy collaboration on outcomes of ethical dilemmas and community health equity.
