Dr. Shahid received her medical degree from Aga Khan University Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan, graduating with honors. She then completed residency in Internal Medicine at Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, where she earned a Distinguished Educator Certificate from the Education Institute. She joined the faculty at University of Rochester Medical Center/ Strong Memorial Hospital in 2018, as a hospitalist, and is currently enrolled in the Masters in Health Professions Education degree program at Warner School of Education to further her passion of teaching. She has also completed a fellowship in Quality Improvement. She has special interest in high value care, health equity and medical education. Outside of medicine, she volunteers her time to fight food waste and food insecurity by helping foster collaborations between community organizations, i.e. local non-profit farms and food pantries.
