Kelly Nye, PhD, is a licensed psychologist and Assistant Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Neurology at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC). Her clinical expertise lies in the in the intersection of neurologic and psychiatric conditions, such as functional neurological disorders and comorbid neurologic and psychiatric presentations.

At URMC, Dr. Nye serves as the Clinic Director of the NeuroBehavioral Health Clinic, a behavioral health service embedded within the Department of Neurology. She also provides inpatient consultation at the Strong Epilepsy Center’s comprehensive long-term video EEG monitoring unit, offers communication coaching to physicians in Neurology, and actively engages in research. In addition to her clinical roles, she regularly provides education to physicians, mental health professionals, and the broader community. She also volunteers for organizations focused on improving the lives of those with neurological and/or psychiatric conditions.

Dr. Nye’s academic and clinical training reflects her strong commitment to lifelong learning. She earned a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Rochester, followed by a PhD in Counseling Psychology from West Virginia University, where she focused on pain management and neuropsychology. Her clinical training includes an internship at the Finger Lakes VA Medical Center and then a prestigious two-year fellowship specializing in the assessment and treatment of functional neurological disorders and other neurologic conditions.
