I was born in California but moved to the Rochester area at a young age. I attended Cornell University for my undergraduate training, and have stayed in upstate New York for my medical training and practice.

I am trained in the use of therapeutic radiation, and treat patients at Strong Memorial Hospital and Noyes Memorial Hospital. I specialize in gastrointestinal cancers and metastatic disease at Strong Memorial Hospital and practice general radiation oncology at Noyes Memorial Hospital.

My clinical focus at Strong Memorial Hospital spans the breadth of GI cancers, including but not limited to liver, pancreatic, colorectal, anal, gastric, and esophageal cancers, as well as metastatic disease of all cancer types; including radiation for oligometastatic/oligoprogressive disease and palliative radiation.

I treat with a variety of approaches, including 3D conformal radiation therapy (3DCRT), image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), Y90 microsphere therapy, and radioligand therapy.

My goal is to provide the highest quality compassionate care to all patients.

Research

Prior to training as a radiation oncologist, I trained in the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) at the University of Rochester, where I completed a PhD in Statistics in addition to my MD.

My research interests lie in leveraging modern statistical methods to answer important clinical questions in cancer care. My statistical research interests include statistics for clinical trials, missing data, meta-analysis, causal inference, survival analysis, and machine learning/artificial intelligence. I remain active with clinical and biostatistical research.

I am a member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) and the American Statistical Association (ASA).

I also contribute my clinical and statistical expertise as a member of the National Cancer Institute PDQ Editorial Board, and am a lead reviewer for their articles educating physicians around the world on the treatment of liver, colon, gastric, esophageal, small intestine, and rectal cancers.
