About Me

I am a board-certified radiation oncologist with a primary focus on GI cancers, in addition to treating CNS and thoracic malignancies at AdventHealth Orlando. I formerly worked at the University of Rochester as an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology and Biostatistics, working as a GI and general radiation oncologist.

Prior to residency, I completed a Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) at the University of Rochester, earning an MD with Distinction in Research and a PhD in Statistics. I continue to engage in teaching and research activities as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology at the University of Rochester. I also continue to serve as course director for the Biostatistics for Radiation Oncology Residents course in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Rochester.

In addition to these roles, I assist radiation oncology residents in preparing for their oral board examinations by administering mock exams for GI radiation oncology as Faculty through the Osler Institute. I continue to be involved in a similar capacity in helping University of Rochester Radiation Oncology residents prepare for their GI section on their oral boards.

Research

In addition to clinical research in GI and CNS radiation oncology, my research interests lie in leveraging modern statistical methods to answer important clinical questions in cancer care. My statistical research interests include statistics for clinical trials, missing data, meta-analysis, causal inference, survival analysis, and machine learning/artificial intelligence. I remain active with clinical and biostatistical research.

I am a member of the NRG Oncology Gastrointestinal Core Committee. I am also a member of the SWOG cooperative group and serve on their Gastrointestinal and Radiation Oncology committees and Artificial Intelligence subcommittee. I also work on collaborative projects with the NRG Oncology Statistical and Data Management Center.

I am a member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) and the American Statistical Association (ASA).
