I am an assistant professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology at the University of Rochester.

I received my PhD in 2023 from the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Washington, where I was advised by Dr. Marco Carone and Dr. Noah Simon. From 2023 to 202...

I received my PhD in 2023 from the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Washington, where I was advised by Dr. Marco Carone and Dr. Noah Simon. From 2023 to 2025, I was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Informatics at the University of Pennsylvania, working with Dr. Yong Chen. Before my PhD, I studied Organismic and Evolutionary Biology at Harvard University, with a language citation in Spanish, and worked as a research associate at the Institute for Genomic Medicine at Columbia University.

My research is focused on nonparametric and semiparametric statistics, machine learning, and survival analysis, with the aim of studying how flexible machine learning algorithms can be harnessed to provide reliable statistical inference in the biomedical sciences. My research is focused on nonparametric and semiparametric statistics, machine learning, and survival analysis, with the aim of studying how flexible machine learning algorithms can be harnessed to provide reliable statistical inference in the biomedical sciences. I am especially interested in statistical epidemiology, causal inference, and methods for assessing variable importance. Prior and ongoing collaborative projects include work in mental health, infectious diseases, and genomic medicine.
