Dr. Amy Halpin, is an Assistant Professor of Neurology who has joined the division of Cognitive Behavioral Neurology as a Clinical Neuropsychologist.

Dr. Halpin earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Maine. She then completed a neuropsychology internship at the University of Florida and a neuropsychology fellowship at Mass General Brigham.

As part of her training, Dr. Halpin has worked with patients with a variety of conditions related to neurodevelopmental, psychiatric, medical, and neurodegenerative etiologies. Clinically she specializes in Alzheimer's disease as well as atypical dementias including frontotemproal degeneration, Parkinson's plus syndromes, and posterior cortical atrophy.

Dr. Halpin's area of research focuses on identifying factors that improve diagnostic and prognostic accuracy. Specifically, her research aims to characterize the heterogeneity inherent to many neurodegenerative conditions with the goal of improving abilities to predict which individuals carry an increased risk for cognitive dysfunction and decline. Her research has spanned areas including cerebral amyloid angiopathy, frontotemporal degeneration, Alzheimer's disease, and cognitive aging.
