Dr. Pritchett earned her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Georgia State University and her Ph.D. from the University of Delaware, where she studied gene expression changes in poultry across development and in response to heat stress. She joined the University of Rochester Genomics Research Center (GRC) in 2016, became faculty in 2026, and currently serves as Co-Director of the GRC.
At the GRC, Dr. Pritchett oversees complex genomics projects, guiding experimental design, sequencing strategy, and integration with downstream bioinformatics. She has extensive expertise in developing and optimizing library preparation methods across diverse and challenging sample types and has played a key role in implementing and expanding spatial transcriptomics technologies.
In addition to her technical leadership, Dr. Pritchett manages core laboratory operations and is deeply committed to education and outreach. She develops workshops, seminars, and training resources to support the research community and mentors trainees in emerging spatial technologies. She also extends these efforts into the broader community, engaging local students of all ages to promote STEM education and awareness of genomics.
She enjoys working closely with the research community to effectively leverage cutting-edge genomics technologies to answer complex biological questions.
