She received a PhD in sociology and master's degrees in public health and marriage and family therapy. She holds the following positions within the URMC: Director of the Finger Lakes Center of Excellence in Alzheimer's Disease, Co-Director of the Family Therapy Training Program, Clinic Director of the UR Medicine Memory Care Program, and Associate Director of the Office for Aging Research and Health Services. She provides patient care in the department's Family Therapy Services clinic, in the Memory Care Program, and at Monroe Community Hospital. She is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), the Gerontological Society of America, the Alzheimer's Association International Society to Advance Alzheimer's Research and Treatment, the Monroe Community Hospital Foundation Board, the Monroe County Council for Elders, and the Medical/Scientific Advisory Committee of the Rochester/Finger Lakes Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. She has held leadership positions in multiple organizations and currently serves as the President of New York State Division of AAMFT.
