Biography

Professional Background

Dr. Mruzek is a licensed psychologist and licensed behavior analyst. He provides direct consultation and technical assistance to school districts and agencies through the region, nationally, and internationally. His areas of expertise include clinical and psychoeducational assessment of individuals with developmental and learning disabilities, assessment and treatment of challenging behavior, and promotion of inclusive practices (e.g., staff training and direct consultation to instructional teams). His clinical practice includes supporting families coping with challenging behavior, as well as developing applied behavior analytic programs for the development of skilled behavior (e.g., toilet training, alternatives to aggression).

Research

Dr. Mruzek's research interests include behavior analytic interventions for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities, as well as development of standardized psychological testing. He has been the primary investigator and investigator on several externally funded projects and is a developer of an innovative toilet training methodology for children with developmental disabilities. Dr. Mruzek is on the board of reviewers for several peer-reviewed scientific journals.
