Biography

Professional Background

Timothy Baran received his B.S. in Electrical and Computer & Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2007. He came to the University of Rochester in 2007 and received his Ph.D. in Optics in 2013. Following this, Dr. Baran joined the faculty as an Instructor in the Department of Imaging Sciences in 2013. He was promoted to Research Assistant Professor in 2015, and joined the tenure-track faculty as an Assistant Professor in 2020.
