Currently, I am focusing on developing methods to estimate gene regulatory networks from gene pertubation experiments, using microRNA signatures to predict recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma after liver transplantation, and examining the effect of cellular composition on tissue-level gene expression. I received a Ph.D. in Biostatistics from The Johns Hopkins University under the supervision of Rafael Irizarry. My thesis work focused on developing statistical methodology for preprocessing and analysis of data from a single microarray.Professional BackgroundIn 2010, I received a PhD in Biostatistics and an MHS in Bioinformatics from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health under the supervision of Dr. Rafael Irizarry. From 2010 to 2014, I worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Rochester Medical Center under the mentorship of Drs. Anthony Almudevar and Hartmut Land. In the fall of 2014, I accepted a position as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology with a joint appointment in the Department of Biomedical Genetics at the University of Rochester Medical Center.ResearchMy research interests are in statistical genomics, systems biology, and bioinformatics.
