University of Rochester Family Medicine Residency Faculty and Research

The Department of Family Medicine faculty represent a broad range of experience in both clinical and educational arenas. We value the synergistic relationship between faculty who are alumni of our program and those who come from widely varied backgrounds. The spirit of collegiality is evident from management of the outpatient practice to academic pursuits as evidenced in their research publications. Some highlights of our faculty include two physicians with cesarean privileges, two who do colposcopies, and one who was a senior editor at JAMA for six years.

The University of Rochester Department of Family Medicine ranks in the top 10 family medicine departments in the U.S. in federally funded research. Research in the Department focuses on improving communication between patients and health professionals, behavior change, and reducing disparities in health and health care.

“Excellent teaching in medicine and outpatient clinic and OB/Gyn.”
