The Rochester, New York pediatrics environment is a fully integrated collaboration between the pediatricians and basic scientists of the University of Rochester Medical Center and their colleagues in clinical practice in the community.
Our investigations have improved the health of children around the world. Specifically, we have examined the molecular biology and various pediatric diseases, developed vaccines and drugs to prevent or treat pediatric disease, formulated new tests to assess the aspects of pediatric health, including the assessment of kidney function and designed practices to improve the delivery of child health service and clinical outcomes. Such research has improved the health of children in Rochester and far beyond, and has helped to extend the lives of many children who previously would have died before reaching adulthood.
Our research into the future will keep those children healthy and make their lives more productive and fulfilling.
