United for excellence in developmental and behavioral health and wellness

Group of Smiling KidsWho We Are

We are committed to improving the health and well-being of children, youth, and families affected by developmental and behavioral disorders.

Our multidisciplinary team

  • Delivers health and behavioral care to individuals across Upstate New York
  • Conducts nationally recognized research on autism spectrum disorder
  • Provides training opportunities for caregivers

Mission

To promote whole-child wellness for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), we develop University and community partnerships that are focused on access to quality and person-centered developmental and behavioral services. Our research and training guide evidence-informed practice and prepare future generations of leaders in service, research, and advocacy for people with IDD. We emphasize diversity and inclusion with and for individuals with IDD and their families in our community.

Vision

The Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics envisions a world in which children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families are valued and respected, lead healthy, self-determined lives and are fully included in the community of their choice.
