Mike completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Rochester and his Master’s Degree at Wesleyan University. He is a senior technician in the Steiner Laboratory.

Leah is a lab technician who has been working at the University for 15 years. In addition to working in the Steiner Lab, she also works as a vet assistant and sells crafts on Etsy. Outside of work, Leah enjoys hiking, traveling, art, and animals.

Bioinformatics Analyst

Lovely is a Bioinformatics Analyst in the Steiner Lab. She completed her Master’s degree in Bioinformatics and enjoys using computational tools to analyze large-scale genomics and transcriptomics data to support ongoing research in the lab.

Staff Scientist

Allen completed his Ph.D. in toxicology and Postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Rochester. He is a staff scientist in the Steiner Lab.

Deanna Abid

Deanna Abid

Graduate Student

Deanna is a graduate student in the Biomedical Genetics and Genomics program at the University of Rochester. She earned her B.S. in Biotechnology and Molecular Bioscience from the Rochester Institute of Technology and later joined the Steiner Lab as a research technician before beginning graduate school. Outside of the lab, she enjoys spending time outdoors and with friends and family.

Stork Oreoluwa Abruda

Graduate Student

Stork received his bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He then obtained a second Master’s degree from the University of Chester, United Kingdom, before a brief stint working in the biotech industry. In his spare time, Stork enjoys playing video games and watching anime.

Nabil Rahman, M.S.

Nabil Rahman, M.S.

Graduate Student

Nabil Rahman is from Dhaka, Bangladesh. He acquired his BS in Molecular Genetics from the UofR and a M.S. in Pathology from URMC. Nabil integrates cell biology, molecular biology, and genetics to study erythroid development using in-vitro and in-vivo models. Nabil aims to bridge fundamental biology with translational insight to advance our understanding of erythroid development."

Alex Parks, M.S.

Alex Parks, M.S.

Graduate Student

Alex began undergrad at Monroe Community College before transferring to SUNY Geneseo, where he worked in the lab of Dr. Travis Bailey and received his B.S. In Biochemistry and graduated Cum Laude. He then worked as a lab technician at the University of Rochester before joining the Biochemistry graduate program.
