Reza Yousefi Nooraie, M.Sc., Ph.D.

Biography

Research

Reza is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Public Health Sciences, University of Rochester (since Oct 2018), with a dual (Status) appointment at the Institute of Health Policy, Management, and Evaluation, University of Toronto.
He investigates the social complexities of dissemination and implementation of innovations in health care settings and communities, and tries to push the conceptual and methodological boundaries of implementation science forward. He is interested in the processes and outcomes of engaging stakeholders in planning and developing implementation strategies. He is the co-Director of Equity-focused Dissemination & Implementation (EQ-DI) Function at University of Rochester Clinical and Translational Science Institute (UR CTSI), in which he leads capacity-building and training activities to facilitate the bridge between research and practice at University.
He is an expert in studying social networks and relations among individuals and organizations in healthcare settings and communities. He studies the structures and dynamics of patients' support and advice social networks and their impact on health outcomes and communication with healthcare providers.
He is an expert in mixing qualitative and quantitative approaches. He has developed frameworks and published methodological guidelines on mixed methods approaches to network analysis. He is also the Associate Director of the Qualitative and Mixed-methods Research Center (QMMRC) at University of Rochester Medical Center .
