Highland Hospital Gala is Most Successful to Date

Event celebrating hospital's 125th anniversary raises nearly $400,000

Tuesday, April 15, 2014

Highland Hospital’s 125th Anniversary Gala on April 5 raised nearly $400,000 and drew 850 guests. The hospital’s eighth annual Gala, geared toward celebrating Highland’s history, made some history as well: It was the hospital’s largest fundraising event to date, exceeding previous Galas in both attendance and funds raised. Highland celebrated its 125th anniversary as a Rochester hospital just days after the event, on April 10.

The Gala was chaired by Dr. Nicholas Nicosia and Mrs. Mary Z. Nicosia, and Dr. Robert McCann and Mrs. Mary Beth McCann.

Major sponsors included:

·         The Highland Hospital Medical Staff

·         Dr. Seth Zeidman and Dr. Eva Pressman

·         Mark A. Eidlin, The Eidlin-Kilmer Group at Merrill Lynch

·         Petrella Phillips, LLP

·         Highland Hospital Administration

·         Dr. Nicholas Nicosia and Mrs. Mary Z. Nicosia

Funds raised will be used for capital improvements and medical technology investments for the hospital. Highland is Rochester’s longest-running hospital still standing on its original site; in recent decades it has grown from a small community hospital to a region leader in specialty services including bariatric (weight loss) surgery, orthopaedics, gynecologic oncology and geriatrics. Highland is the leading maternity hospital in Rochester.
