Specialized Clinics

Our team provides comprehensive care for children with respiratory conditions across inpatient, outpatient, and consultation settings. We work closely with families and collaborate with other pediatric specialty teams through our specialized clinics to ensure each child receives coordinated, high quality care.

By combining expertise across disciplines, our team delivers thorough diagnostic testing, evidence based medical management, and family centered education. This integrated model helps families better understand their child’s condition while also streamlining care by bringing multiple specialist appointments into a single visit, supporting continuity of care, and providing a more comprehensive, unified approach to treatment.

Aerodigestive Clinic

The term "aerodigestive" refers to conditions involving both the respiratory and digestive systems, which are closely connected – meaning a problem in one affects the other. Our Aerodigestive Clinic cares for children with complex conditions that impact both breathing and digestion. During a visit with our Aerodigestive clinic, you will meet with specialists that may include, but are not limited to: pediatric pulmonologists, pulmonary nurse practitioners, gastroenterologists, otolaryngologists (ear, nose, and throat), speech pathologists, respiratory therapists, nursing and other specialists, to provide coordinated, comprehensive care for your child. Learn more about our Aerodigestive Collaboration.

Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD) Clinic

Our Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD) Clinic cares for children with bronchopulmonary dysplasia, a chronic lung condition that typically affects premature infants who needed breathing support after birth. Our team helps children with BPD manage their lung health, respiratory symptoms, and any other related complications as they grow and develop. During a visit with our BPD Clinic, you will meet specialists that may include, but are not limited to: pediatric pulmonologists, pulmonary nurse practitioners, gastroenterologists, nutrition experts, respiratory therapists, nursing and social workers to provide coordinated care and support for your child and family.

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Center

The Cystic Fibrosis Center, accredited by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF), is dedicated to caring for pediatric patients with cystic fibrosis (CF), a genetic condition affecting the lungs and digestive system. We also care for children with Cystic-Fibrosis Related Metabolic Syndrome (CRMS). The clinic provides comprehensive, ongoing care focused on disease management and improving quality of life. During a visit with our CF Clinic, you will meet specialists that may include, but are not limited to: pediatric pulmonologists, pulmonary nurse practitioners, gastroenterologists, respiratory therapists, social workers, nutritionists, genetic counselors, and other specialists.

Neuromuscular Clinic

Our Neuromuscular Clinic provides specialized care for children with neuromuscular conditions that may affect breathing and overall respiratory health. These conditions often require coordinated support from multiple pediatric specialists to ensure each child receives comprehensive, individualized care. During a visit with our Neuromuscular Clinic, you will meet specialists that may include, but are not limited to: pediatric pulmonologists, neurologists, physical therapists, and respiratory therapists who work closely together to create a personalized care plan for each child. The clinic focuses on helping children breathe more comfortably, prevent respiratory complications, and improve their quality of life as they grow and develop.

Severe Asthma Clinic

While asthma is common, some children experience more severe or persistent symptoms that require specialized, multidisciplinary care. Our Severe Asthma Clinic focuses on supporting pediatric patients whose asthma symptoms are difficult to control with standard treatments. During a visit with our Severe Asthma Clinic, you will meet specialists that may include, but are not limited to pediatric pulmonologists, allergists, respiratory therapists, social work, and other specialists. Learn more about how we treat asthma from infancy through adolescence.

Sickle Cell Clinic

Sickle cell disease is an inherited condition in which red blood cells become abnormally shaped—often like a crescent or “sickle.” These misshapen cells can block blood flow, leading to pain episodes, organ damage, and an increased risk of respiratory problems. During a visit with our Sickle Cell Clinic, you will meet specialists that may include, but are not limited to pediatric pulmonologists, hematologists, nursing, respiratory therapists, and other specialists.

Trach/Vent Program

Our Pediatric Tracheostomy & Home Ventilator Program provides specialized care for children who need long-term breathing support, such as a tracheostomy and/or a mechanical ventilator. These children typically have complex medical conditions and our team works closely with families to deliver coordinated, compassionate care. During a visit with our Trach/Vent Clinic, you will meet specialists that may include, but are not limited to: pediatric pulmonologists, pulmonary nurse practitioners, gastroenterologists, otolaryngologists (ear, nose, and throat), speech pathologists, respiratory therapists, nursing, social workers, and other specialists.
