UR PreDoc Program
UR PreDoc Program
The UR PreDoc Program offers longitudinal mentorship and experiential learning opportunities in clinical medicine to any interested undergraduate students in the Rochester area. The program is designed to increase early exposure to the medical field and support students who may not have traditionally had access to resources or pathways that lead to a career in medicine. This includes individuals who may be the first in their families to attend college, those who have experienced financial hardship, and others whose backgrounds may have presented barriers to pursuing a medical career.
Participants are paired with senior physician mentors at URMC, as well as local medical students, and engage in structured scholarly activities and career development. The overarching goal of the UR PreDoc Program is to expand access to mentorship and professional growth opportunities in medicine for all interested students, especially those who may not have had such opportunities otherwise.
