AADR 2019

The Rochester Section of the American Association for Dental Research was held on June 4, 2019.   

  • The Basil G. Bibby Award was given to recognize outstanding scientific merit among oral and poster presentations by non-degree candidates. This year’s winners were Dr. Elena Bedilo, for poster “Distribution of Pediatric Dentists Accepting Medicaid in New York State” and Dr. Mackenzie Butcher for poster “Bacterial Threshold Corresponding to Caries Development in Early Childhood Caries”.
  • The Michael G. Buonocore Award is given for outstanding scientific merit among oral and poster presentations by degree candidates. This year’s winners were Andrew Bischer for poster “Stress Regulation on Rhamnose Biosynthesis in Streptococcus mutans” and Dr. Naemah Alkhars for oral presentation “Oral Candida Colonization in Infants with High Risk for Severe ECC”.
  • The Bowen Award is given for outstanding scientific merit among oral and poster presentations by candidates in postdoctoral programs. The Bowen Award was presented to Dr. Linda R. Wang Lam, for poster “Multicomponent Coaxial Electrospun Fiber Scaffolds for Guided Tissue Regeneration Using Emdogain”.
  • The Graser Award, named after former Chair and Program Director of the Prosthodontic specialty program, Dr. Gerald N. Graser, recognizes outstanding clinical case series and/or case reports that describe original, innovative and/or evidence-based clinical treatments. This year’s winners were Dr. Kristen Frantz, for poster “Multidisciplinary Approach to Treatment of Severe Malocclusion and Congenitally Missing Lateral Incisors” and Dr. Adriana Parra, for poster “Long Term Treatment for Ankylosed teeth in the Esthetic Zone”.
