Curriculum

The mission of the University of Rochester Allergy/Clinical Immunology fellowship program is to prepare specialists to provide expert medical care for patients with allergic and immunologic disorders, and to serve as consultants, educators, and physician scientists in allergic or hypersensitivity disorders, autoimmunity, immunodeficiency, and other immune-mediated disorders.

The goals and objectives of the fellowship training program are derived from this mission statement and include measurable competencies in the six areas as outlined by the ACGME.  Upon completion of the program, it is expected that fellows will be have attained these goals and will achieved these competencies. 1. Clinical Blocks require two continuity clinics (adult and pediatrics) and four faculty clinics per week and one pediatric primary immune deficiency clinic per month
2. Research Blocks require two continuity clinics
3. One month of inpatient Rheumatology call is required in the first year and six months of Allergy call each year.
4. Clinical electives are outpatient clinics in Dermatology, Rheumatology, ENT, and Pulmonary.
5. The academic component includes conferences and didactic sessions.
