Fellow Life

Everyone in the Allergy/Immunology and Rheumatology Division is dedicated to the Division’s mission of patient care, education and research.  But everyone also values family, celebrating achievements and just having fun.

Outside of work, our fellows enjoy family, hiking, kayaking, camping, biking, traveling, reading fiction, cooking, Netflix, local microbreweries and wineries, the food scene, gardening, music, yoga, learning new languages and much more.

Rochester and the surrounding area is full of adult and family-friendly cultural events, activities, and places to visit.  Restaurants abound and the Finger Lakes are known not only for their beauty and recreational opportunities but also local wineries and microbreweries.  Hear what our fellows had to say about Rochester.

Jennifer Pier, MD

"I grew up in Rochester. I love the small town feel of Rochester but there are plenty of activities. There is a great food scene, as well as arts/entertainment. We love to see the Broadway shows and concerts that come to town. There is also wonderful nature surrounding the area, with mountains, hiking trails, and the fingers lakes (with great wineries!) close by."

"Rochester is a great city that offers a good quality of life. Summers in Rochester are unbeatable, with a variety of outdoor activities from hiking & kayaking to experiencing local microbreweries & wineries, especially in the Finger Lakes region. Over the years, it has developed a good local food scene which is open year-round."
